So, Rupert Murdoch is planning to move the Wall Street Journal out into new areas, leveraging the intangible reputational assets it’s built up into a classic piece of Ansoff matrix brand extension AND market extension all in one.
Result? (he hopes) Increased revenues and profits.
Well he achieve it? We’ll see, but on past evidence he doesn’t fail very often. But this one’s all in the execution.
As strategy, it’s a classic and leaves a lot of his rivals looking like fuddy duddy old duffers.
Nice one Rupe!
